In ProjecTAMA we want our students to have a deep understanding of the text and that reading is not only limited to books. We understand that learning is emotional and we are here to serve our students with the brain in mind.
Reading a Culturally Responsive Book- 30 Minutes
Teachers or students choose a culturally relevant book in which we explore it through V&V - Higher Order Thinking
We analyze text through Inquiry and explore the elements of thought to make deep connections
My Scientific Learning- 30 minutes Fast ForeWord Program
Each student has a personalized learning experience that starts with being placed at their level within the Fast ForWord program. The program meets your student where they are to address their needs.
Students receive real-time corrective feedback as they read aloud from a virtual personal reading tutor. Students can also see their progress and where they need more practice.
Reporting and Progress Monitoring- Teachers see exercise progression and overall reading gains for individual students. Reports help teachers know which students need targeted support and which skills their students need to develop the most.
Visualizing and Verbalizing for Language Comprehension and Thinking- 30 Minutes
Develops concept imagery: the ability to create mental representations and integrate them with language. This Sensory-cognitive skill underlies language comprehension and higher-order thinking for students of all ages. The program helps students help explore the part-whole relationship to create a full picture as they are engaging with a text.
Seeing Stars- Symbol Imagery for Phonological and orthographic Processing in Reading and Spelling- 30 minutes
An integrated program to develop phonological processing and sight words for reading and spelling. The goal is fluent contextual reading and accurate spelling
Ujima-Peer to Peer Collaboration- 30 to 45 minutes
Students can explore any subject with their peers and this allows students to teach each other specific skills from mathematics, science, ELA, Social Studies, and foreign language.
Spanish- 30 Minutes
Students have the opportunity to strengthen their language skills by attending a Spanish Seminar led by a Spanish Instructor
